Paris Fashion Week SS 2012

It is my humble opinion that Paris is by far the apex out of all the Fashion Weeks (The other 3 out of 4 being : New York, then London, then Milan). Most shows take place at Le Carrousel du Louvre, others including Chanel in the past, take place at the Grand Palais.

In honor of Paris FW for Spring/Summer 2012, September  27- October5, le mot de la semaine is défilétechnically defined as a parade, it is the french word for Fashion Show. A Fashion Show is in essence a parade of models. Try using it in a sentence like: Was it just me or did the Prada défilé look like Boca Raton meets Paris Hilton? Or check out Balenciaga's défilé for SS 2012!

For a schedule of les défilés starting Monday check out this link SS 2012

Super Parisian lines to catch: Chloe, Celine, Yves Saint Laurent and Lanvin

Super jaw-dropping shows: McQueen (of course!), Chanel (of course!), Sonia Rykiel (a left bank fav) and Balmain

Point Zero-to-Sixty

If there were one place you could call the "center" of Paris, it would be Point Zero, right in front of Notre Dame on L’île de la Cité. Point Zero is the loci from which all roads go, in other words you can trace any road back linearly to this point. Point Zero was created during Napoleon's reign, as he built routes (highways) out of the city.

For more information on its history you can visit wikipedia: Wiki Article

Parisian Legend has it if you touch the Point you will have good luck for a year, if you stand on the Point you will return to Paris in the future. I suggest doing both, just to be thorough!
